Our food safe boards are finished using a brand of mineral oil that is specifically designed to be safe for food preparation. These boards have some specific care instructions.

1. Never put the board in the dishwasher. It should be cleaned with water and a mild dish soap.
2. The oil should be refreshed on the board on a regular basis. How often depends on the usage. If it is used and washed every day, it should be done about monthly. Just pour some of the mineral oil on the board and spread it with your hands across the board face.
3. The board can be used as a cutting surface; however, you will need to use the oil more often if you do.
